Customer need: North-European producer in the fuses and electronic components industry, requires a metallic device with fuseholder function, which can protect an electrical circuit from power surges.

GMG proposed solution: a technical solution has been proposed to the customer obtainable through a cap shearing process for deep drawing, the preferred solution compared to the cap creation process, which, although less complex, introduces an imperfection to the constancy of the height along the external circumference, which can have negative repercussions during the automatic fitting phase of the component.

How to obtain the result: thanks to our experience in the process of shearing caps for deep drawing, particular attention has been paid to the detail of the shearing on the thickness of the material, which must be in place in order to obtain a perfect cylindrical shape along the vertical wall of the component.
